Dr Craig Colhoun

I’m a clinical psychologist based in Napier and Hastings, Hawkes Bay.

I have a diverse range of interests. I particularly enjoy working with trauma, OCD, worrying, sports psychology and personality issues. My career has ensured that I have developed robust skills in the assessment and management of a wide variety of presentations.

I began my career working as a programme facilitator for the Department of Corrections delivering group-based programmes to offenders.

Then in 2011, I became a registered psychologist, and have since worked in a diverse range of client fields including:

  • Department of Corrections
  • EXPLORE – working with Pervasive Developmental Disorders such as Autistic Spectrum Disorders
  • Child Adolescent Family Mental Health Services (CAFS)

During my professional career, I have held a number of prominent roles, delivered training, and developed and run individual and group therapy programmes.

During my time working for the Southern District Health Board (SDHB), I was a member of the SDHB Autistic Spectrum Advisory Panel and SDHB Personality Disorders Interest Group.
